About Us

Blythe District was formed on 1st April 2005 by the amalgamation of the
former Solihull East and Solihull West Districts and is named after the
River Blythe which meanders through the District from the centre of
Solihull out to Shirley and beyond.

The District covers the Centre of Solihull, Shirley, Monkspath, Tidbury
Green and Hockley Heath and comprises 12 Groups with a total of 14
Beaver Colonies, 15 Cub Packs, 13 Scout Troops and 5 Explorer Units.
These offer a varied and interesting programme for boys and girls from 6
to 18 years of age, after which they can progress to Scout Network which
caters for 18 to 25 year olds.

Recent district events in Blythe have included a Beaver Friendship Badge
Day, a Cub Gang Show in a Day, Beaver and Cub Carol Services and an
annual Scout and Explorer camp to the Biblins.
