Blythe District

 

Blythe District was formed on 1st April 2005 by the amalgamation of the former Solihull East and Solihull West Districts and is named after the River which meanders through the District from the centre of Solihull out to Shirley and beyond.

 

The District covers the Centre of Solihull, Shirley, Monkspath, Tidbury Green and Hockley Heath and comprises 15 Groups with a total of 15 Beaver Colonies, 16 Cub Packs, 11 Scout Troops and 4 Explorer Units. These offer a varied and interesting programme for boys and girls from 6 to 18 years of age, after which they can progress to Scout Network which caters for 18 to 25 year olds.

 

Cole District

Cole District was formed on the 1 st April 2005, following the amalgamation of the former Solihull North and South Districts.

The District is named after the river which meanders through the District, from the County border with Birmingham to the border with Warwickshire and beyond into the Trent valley.

 

            The District covers the rural areas of Hampton in Arden, Knowle, Dorridge, Balsall Common and the area of Solihull borough between the town centre and Coventry . The District also includes Elmdon, Chelmsley Wood, Marston Green and Olton.

 

            At the last census The District comprised of 12 Groups and 6 Explorer Units, catering for young people between the ages of 6 to 18. The District also has excellent links to the County Network Unit, which facilitates activities for the young at heart to the age of 25.
