Within the Cub section, children between the age of 8 – 10½ are welcomed. Places are available for both boys and girls within certain groups of the district.

Within cubs, children have the opportunity to take part in many varied activities including outdoor expeditions, helping the community and personal targets in the way of badges.

There are 32 activity badges, 5 challenge badges and 3 group awards. The highest award a cub can earn is the Chief Scouts Silver Award. This incorporates a variety of challenge and activity badges that have to be achieved before the Sliver award is presented.

Along with the badge work, there is a balanced programme, which ensures pack nights include a mixture of the following:

There are 9 cub packs within the Solihull District. Each year, the cub packs take place in a camp and an outing. This brings together the whole district and is an opportunity for the cub to meet new people.

The main part of cubs is to have fun.
